Psychotherapy

Meet Alyson
Welcome! I’m Alyson Lewis-Anner, and I am a licensed psychotherapist dedicated to helping people live their most authentic, joyful, and fulfilling lives. I believe that people already have the tools within themselves to create the lives that they desire, but that unresolved traumas or challenging circumstances often get in the way. The first step towards making that a reality is finding the right therapist who will truly see and hear you, and who will provide the guidance you need to heal from painful experiences, improve your interpersonal relationships, reduce anxiety and stress, and find peace and serenity in your life.

As your therapist, I will approach our work together with warmth, compassion, and a sincere interest in understanding your past, present, and wishes for the future. I am collaborative in my approach and will work side-by-side with you to identify areas of difficulty and to set positive goals. I have a deep interest in people’s lives and stories, and I am committed to taking the time and care to allow clients to invite me in to their own unique experiences in order to build a strong therapeutic relationship that will foster trust and growth.

I have over twelve years of experience working with people who struggle with anxiety, panic, depression, poor self-esteem, and unhealthy patterns in relationships. I use an integrative approach that draws from a variety of evidence-based treatment modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, and Trauma-Informed Therapy. I am a holistic therapist who always considers the mind-body connection and the impact of our environment on our well-being. I work with both adults and adolescents, and I have specialized training in working with LGBTQ+ individuals of all ages. I am Tier IV certified by the LGBT Network as a professional who provides a truly affirming, safe space, and who is knowledgeable about the entire spectrum of identities and the unique challenges people may face as members of the LGBTQ+ community. I am a native New Yorker, and when I am not working, I enjoy spending time cooking, gardening, hiking, and going to Broadway shows and vintage markets in NYC.
